Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Thursday 2nd June

St Luke’s church will be open from 8.00pm – 10.30pm

After hearing the piper and bugler play music specially selected for the occasion, the Jubilee Beacon will be lit on top of the church tower from 9.45pm in unison with 2,200 beacons across the UK and Commonwealth.

 Friday & Saturday 3rd & 4th June

St Luke’s church will be open for visitors on both days from 10am to 4pm.
On Saturday from 10am, the bells at St Luke’s will joyfully ring out in celebration of the 70 year reign of HM the Queen.

Sunday 5th June

9am – service of Holy Communion at St Luke’s church
** no 10.30am service at St Luke’s church**
11.30am at Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre – a joint Churches Together Jubilee celebration service
1-4pm bring your own picnic lunch and settle down for a free family fun afternoon at the Leisure Centre  as a village-wide celebration of Holmes Chapel through the decades.
Genesis, alongside the other Churches in the village, will be hosting a craft activity inspired by faith and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Tuesday 14th June – MU Strawberry Supper

7.30pm in the Church Hall
Non-members very welcome; tickets £5 each from Dorothy Wood (HC 533704) or Carole Elliott (HC 533882).
We would like everyone to wear red, white and blue colours and bring red, white, and blue items for the Jubilee themed Bring and Buy stall .

Sunday 19th June – Garden Treasure Trail

2 to 5pm
Maps will be available from Social Committee members (1£ each) in church at the end of May.
These will guide you between 12 Southlands (scones, jam, cream, tea and coffee here), 14 St. Andrew’s Drive (prosecco, soft drinks and nibbles here) and 74A London Road (cakes, tea and coffee here).
Donations of cakes etc welcome – please give to any Social Committee member in church on morning of 19th June.
