Operation Christmas Child – Thank you!!

Sending Gift Filled Shoeboxes for children in need around the world this Christmas

Operation Christmas Child (the initiative by Samaritan’s Purse) celebrated another successful year at St Luke’s.

• Following the cake sale after church on 15th October, £180 was raised to help buy items to make up boxes and towards distribution costs for sending them to different areas of the world.
• Sunday 29th October was our culmination morning.  Thank you to everyone who brought in completed boxes, donations and knitting and to all those who wrapped boxes ready for filling.

Genesis enjoyed making additional boxes with donations received and adding these to the increasing display of boxes  growing steadily over the morning. In all 89 boxes were counted at the end of the session!

It was an amazing Christmas decorated display ready to send joy and happiness to children in need around the world.

I look forward to seeing you all again next year – you make a valuable contribution to a child’s happiness as they know that they are thought about wherever they may be.
