Operation Christmas Child 2022 – Genesis
Gift Filled Shoeboxes for children in need around the world this Christmas
As always when the children go back to school after the summer holidays, we start to think about Operation Christmas Child and the Genesis contribution to this initiative run by Samaritans Purse to send gift filled shoe boxes to children in need around the world.
This year the culmination of our September appeal was on Sunday 30th October. Genesis gratefully received completed boxes and donations throughout the morning, as well as packing additional boxes from the donations received. By the end of the morning we had over 100 boxes filled with Christmas gifts ready to be taken to New Life Church, our local collection point in Congleton. From there, the boxes are forwarded to Samaritans Purse for onward distribution to their ultimate destination, giving joy to a child who may only receive this one gift at Christmas.
Thank you very much for the support you have given this year, whether it was packing a box, providing donations, knitting or buying a cake at our coffee morning. Everything went towards providing gift filled shoe boxes to children in need around the world.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year and it is not too early to start collecting!
