MU Strawberry Supper 14th June!
This was our first Strawberry Supper in three years and was well attended with 55 tickets sold with visitors from MU groups in the Deanery and our friends from High Legh and Henbury. Sadly, our partner group at Wistaston also invites has folded but still kindly sent a £10 donation for our funds.
We always provide scones with cream and strawberries and a huge variety of cakes (see above!) was on offer all made by our members.
This is always a successful evening, but each year we try to make it a bit different. This Jubilee year, we asked people to make notes and talk about their memories of the Coronation, or just Royal memories. We also asked all members to wear red, white and blue and to bring red, white and blue items to sell on our Bring and Buy stall.
The occasion is also a good opportunity to raise money for MU overseas and this year we managed to raise £414.67 for the MU ‘Summer of Hope’ appeal supporting the next generation of female leaders from the grassroots up.
We would like to thank all those members who put in all that extra hard work to enable the meeting to happen and be such a success. We couldn’t have managed without you!
