MU Epiphany Meeting 15th Jan 2025
Our January meeting has always included our Epiphany service, and Canon Rob led a lovely Communion service for the group of 30 members.
He also enrolled three new members into the Mothers’ Union – Liz Foster-Clark, Maureen Preston and Joan Duckworth. Wendy Bond would have been the fourth enrolled, but she couldn’t be present recovering from an operation. Dorothy presented Rob with a ‘thank you’ gift, and then we all moved to the tables to eat the food we had brought.
It had been Maureen Preston’s 90th birthday, so we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her, and shared some cakes which Margaret Hardwick had brought in. It was a nice opportunity to have a chat with others. We finished the meeting by saying the Grace together.
Next month’s meeting will be on Wednesday 19th February, when Dorothy Davidson will come and talk about Dementia help and resources, following our theme of ‘Listening to others in the Community’.
Please do come and join us at 2pm in the Church Hall.
