MU AGM 19th March 2025
This month’s meeting was our AGM at which we read out the annual report of the year’s meetings, and also the finances. We began the meeting with Val’s prayers before giving the reports.
Afterwards, we continued with the theme of Discovering our Vision, and members were first asked to think about How do we Define our Community. Most people felt there was a sense of belonging in our Community, and friendship.
Next, they were asked what was the best thing about their Community. Answers ranged from people smiling and saying hello, having somewhere to meet with others, companionship, Churches meeting together, and feeling safe.
Finally, they were asked about what were the most challenging things about the Community. Obviously, lack of public transport, uneven pavements, parking and having no bank were high on the list. The other two points were making a doctors appointment (difficult for people not on the Internet) and the parking of parents for school pick-ups causing disruptions!
After working on these, teas and scones were served; a choice of cheese scones or plain scones with cream and jam. It was a really lovely afternoon spent in conversation with each other.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 16th April at 2pm in the Church Hall; our invited speaker is Ellie Dick of the Everybody Community Centre and she will speak about the services they provide to the elderley in the village.
