The advert for our new Vicar has now closed and the panel will be interviewing on 3rd May. The interview panel comprises:

  • Revd Mike Gilbertson, Archdeacon of Chester
  • Revd Steve Clapham, Rural Dean
  • Revd Thomas Shepherd, Patron
  • Alastair Cragg and Jayne Weaver, Parish Representatives

Once the panel has reached a decision this must be ratified by the Church Council before any appointment can be made.

The majority of our Sunday services during the Interregnum have been taken by Revd Rick Gates and we have been inspired and enlightened by Rick’s charismatic and very personal sermons.  Rick has been asked to assist with an Interregnum close to his home parish and so we will not be seeing him so regularly in the coming months. During May, Sunday services will be taken by Revd Graham Joyce and Revd Howard Eales.  Wednesday services will be led by Revd Alan Overend, Revd Sue Wilkens and Revd David Page.

Surveyors from the Diocese have been exploring various options for the vicarage.  An outline planning application has been submitted by the Diocese to Cheshire East Council for a new purpose-built vicarage to be constructed in front and to the left of the existing vicarage.   The planning application (no. 19/1787C) may be viewed on Cheshire East’s website.  The Diocese owns the vicarage and they are seeking outline planning permission before they explore this particular option any further.

We are moving into the next stage of the Interregnum and we really appreciate your continuing support.

Thank you.
