Harvest Thanksgiving October 2024
It was lovely to see so many people in St Luke’s on Sunday 6th October for our Harvest Thanksgiving Services and to welcome all the members of local Guiding to the 10.30 service.
Thank you to all those who helped to decorate our beautiful church with flowers, fruit and vegetables.
Thank you to everyone who contributed with donations to the Barnabus Homeless Project and with food gifts for Middlewich and District Food Bank.
Thank you also to all the volunteers who helped on the Monday morning to pack up the food, carry it across the road, pack into cars and deliver it to the Food Bank.
We were shown around the Food Bank warehouse and packing area in its new home at Holly House Estate on Middlewich Road in Byley.
A team of people were busy sorting and date marking food, storing it in the warehouse and making up bags of food to be given out the following day.
The Food Bank were very grateful for the gifts from St Luke’s which will make such a difference to people in need within the area. They have a Facebook page so there will be a thank you message to us on their page.
