You may hear the bells ringing quite a lot on Saturday 12 October between about 2pm and 4 30 pm.

The reason is that the Annual General Meeting and Ringing Competition of The Chester Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers is this year being held at St Lukes, Holmes Chapel.

Every year the individual five Branches of the Guild hold their own ringing competitions and the five winners then compete against each other for the title of CDG champions for that year. It is this final that will take place on October 12th.

The  St Luke’s ringers won our branch competition so we will be taking part, on home ground.

After the competition and Service the ringers adjourn to the Church Hall for a well earned tea of sandwiches and cakes. Then the Judges deliberations will be presented and the winners declared and no doubt discussed at length.
