COVID-19 Precautions at St Luke’s Church – update at 11 March 2022
Infections with the omicron variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus continue at a high level in the local community and nationally, but the reduced severity of the disease in those infected prompted the Government to remove the majority of legal requirements starting on Thursday 27th January.
In particular, it is now no longer a requirement to wear a face-covering in certain public settings including churches.
However, unfortunately locally many people are still contracting the virus. Please use your own discretion about wearing a face-mask in church but respect the wishes of those who feel vulnerable and who are continuing to wear one and are maintaining social distancing.
Also, to minimise the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus, at present only consecrated bread will be received at services of Holy Communion at St Luke’s.
We appreciate your cooperation in this to help keep everyone safe and yet allow you to partake fully in our worship together.
