Christian Aid Lent 2023

For many years now, our local Ecumenical Christian Aid Group has organised a home-made soup lunch served on Fridays in Lent.  For the first time since the Pandemic, we are pleased to run these again in St Luke’s Church Hall to raise funds to help those in great need around the world.

The Lent lunches will be served in the Church Hall on Friday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th March only, from 12 noon until 1.00pm at a cost of £5 per head, payable at the door.

Lent Lunches – home-made soup and bread, followed by home-made biscuits or fresh fruit, and tea or coffee

Each of the lunches will be followed by a Music Recital in St Luke’s Church, starting at 1.15pm.  All are welcome to attend and admission is free but donations to Christian Aid may be made at the church. The Music Recital programme is:

3rd March: Slipper Band

10th March: Organ – Wendy Macdonald

17th March: Community Choir

24th March: Organ – Stephen Haigh

Everyone is welcome to attend either or both events – we look forward to seeing you all for light refreshment, friendship, and easy conversation! Do drop in when you can!
