Praying Together @St Luke’s, Holmes Chapel during Epiphany
O Lord, open our lips and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
From the rising of the sun to its setting your glory is proclaimed in all the world.
O God, who by the leading of a star manifested your only Son to the peoples of the earth:
Mercifully grant that we, who know you now by faith, may at last behold your glory face to face; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen

O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Your words have I hidden in my heart,
That I should not sin against you.
The earth is the Lord’s and all that fills it,
The compass of the world and all who live in it.
For he has founded it upon the seas
And set it firm upon the rivers of the deep.
‘Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord,
Or who can rise up in his holy place?’
‘Those who have clean hands and a pure heart,
Who have not lifted their soul up to an idol,
Nor sworn an oath to a lie:
‘They shall receive a blessing from the Lord,
A just reward from the God of their salvation.
Such is the company of those who seek him,
Of those who seek your face, O God of Jacob.
O Lord, open our lips
And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Let your ways be known upon earth,
Your saving power among the nations.
Who has caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning:
Help us so to hear them,
To read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them,
That through patience, and the comfort of your holy word,
We may embrace and forever hold fast the hope of everlasting life,
which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Everlasting God, we pray for our new King Charles.
Bless his reign and the life of our nation.
Help us to work together
so that truth and justice, harmony and fairness
flourish among us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Gracious God, we give thanks
for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,
for her faith and her dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death
and may her example continue to inspire us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Lord be with you
And also with you.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,
whose judgements are true and just.
Praise our God, all you his servants,
All who fear him, both small and great.
The Lord our God, the Almighty reigns:
Let us rejoice and give him the glory.
For the marriage of the Lamb has come
And his bride has made herself ready.
Blessed are those who are invited
To the wedding banquet of the Lamb.

Praying Together in Lent and Passiontide @St Lukes, Holmes Chapel.
Ash Wednesday Collect:
Almighty and everlasting God,
You hate nothing that you have made
And forgive the sins of all those who are penitent:
Create and make in us new and contrite hearts
That we, worthily lamenting our sins
And acknowledging our wretchedness,
May receive from you, the God of all mercy,
Perfect remission and forgiveness;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
