The 2023 revision of the Church Electoral Roll is now complete and the revised Roll has been published as a list of 222 names for checking before the Annual Meetings in church at 10.50am on 14th May. The published Roll is now available to inspect in church after a service on request to the duty warden or the Electoral Roll Officer.
We are looking for photos taken of events and activities at and around St Luke’s for possible inclusion in our website or magazine to supplement the text. They don’t have to be of professional standard or specially posed. Smartphone or tablet photos are fine – we can tidy up and crop images if needed before any publication.
On the 20th Jan. it was announced that Traidcraft plc (the company from which we bought the fairtrade goods sold from the monthly stall at St Luke’s) was going into administration and ceasing trading.
Thank you for all your support and encouragement with the Christmas services which were so well received.
Genesis meets on Sundays normally at 10am in the Church Hall continuing until 10.45am. We then join the congregation in the church service to share our learning with them, for prayers, a short sermon and for singing. The service finishes around 11.15am so we can all leave together to enjoy fellowship over a drink and biscuit back in the Church Hall.
The Spring term programme up to Easter is shown below.
Most donations to St Luke’s come from our regular church members through our Planned Giving Scheme by envelope or standing order. Regular giving is particularly helpful for budgeting purposes and if this is how you give to St Luke’s, please continue to donate in this way. However, our first contactless giving device is now installed at the back of the church allowing anyone to give by card etc. rather than by cash.
Enthusiastic start to the Holmes Chapel Jubilee weekend as hundreds came to watch the beacon lit on St Luke’s parish church tower.
A very big Thank You to everyone who supported us during Christian Aid Week in and around Holmes Chapel in May.
Your generous support will enable Christian Aid to bring hope and support to the most needy around the world.
