Success for our bellringers at the area ringing competition held at St Luke’s
St Luke’s bell ringers took part in the annual South Cheshire area ringing competition on Saturday 24 May 2025. St Luke’s hosted the event this year at which teams are judged on their accuracy and quality of ringing.
The competition is divided into two categories, novice and main, with each team comprising six ringers. Teams from Congleton, Nantwich, Acton and Holmes Chapel took part. We entered the main class and also provided two ringers for one of the novice teams. The judge was from outside the area, this year coming from Prestbury.
St Luke’s team was adjudged winner of the main class and the novice team with two of our ringers won its class. Our team will now represent the South Cheshire area in the county final to be held on the Wirral on 27 September.
St Luke’s team (L to R): David Phillips, Jonathan Copley, Mervyn Harrison, Tracy Budd, John Murfin, Derek Copley.
